Convention's Texas Girls Swap!

The Close To My Heart Convention is only 13 days away and I am ready for swapping!  Last week I posted some of the cards that I am going to be swapping with the general convention goers.  


Since this years convention is right here in Texas, some of the Texas consultants will be meeting on that Thursday evening and having our own little swap.  I'm so excited and although I have only made 50 cards to swap with the general conventioners, I made 20 of this card for my Texas friends.


This card is made with the Pemberley paper pack, stamp set Bee Happy, #B1374 and the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.  


I really hope they like it!  The lavender wasn't part of the paper packs color scheme but I try to add a little purple to everything when I can. :-)

Getting Ready for Convention 2012!

The Close To My Heart Convention is only 17 days away!  Other than a few odds and ends, I am all set and ready to go - and SO excited!  This year it is being held right in my own backyard........Dallas, Texas!  No flight to make, no baggage to check....Woo Hoo!  I have friends coming in so I will be the driver for the week! :-)


While this isn't my first convention, it is the first time that I am going to participate in the swaps they have.  Consultants make anywhere from 25 to 300 or more cards to swap with other consultants.  Since this is my first time swapping, I was only going to make 50 cards.  50 turned into 70, then 95!  I just can't stop!! LOL  But I do want to see how it goes this year.  I am anxious to see all the creations and get some wonderful ideas from the talented consultants that will be swapping.  


For the 95 cards I made, I chose the 4 paper packs that will be carried over to the new Idea Book that comes out August 1st.  Here are the 4 different designs:

The first one below is made with the Victory paper pack.  

A 4.25 x 5.5 inch birthday card - "May this be your grandest year yet!"

The 2nd card, below, is made with the Stella paper pack and is also a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card for any occasion.

The 3rd card is made with the Florentine Paper Pack, another 4.25 x 5.5 inch card for any occasion

And finally, the 4th card is for a special Texas Girls Meet & Greet swap.  This is made with the Pemberley Paper Pack, another 4.25 x 5.5 inch "any occasion" card.

I'm a little nervous that my work isn't up to par with others but I'm bringing them and hope everyone likes them.

Get Your Studio J On!!

There is nothing like the hands-on feeling of "real" scrapbooking.  Cutting your paper, matting and fitting your photos, adding embellishments such as ribbons, brads, and My Stickease, journaling your thoughts.....So many of my customers know that I just don't like digital scrapbooking, even though Close To My Heart has their own version called "Studio J".  And because of this, I have not pushed Studio J to anyone.  


Now, with the Close To My Heart 2012 convention just a few weeks away, they gave all the convention registrants a Studio J assignment - Create 5 two-page layouts using Studio J for FREE.  Well, if you know me, I just pushed it aside.  Free or not, I just didn't think I would complete it and didn't really care if I missed out on some free layouts.  


Then after some thought.....heck, they are FREE afterall!  Why not try it out?  So after spending a few days looking at the assignment, I jumped in.  And I am here to tell you that I now LOVE - LOVE - LOVE Studio J!!  Yes, you heard me....I LOVE IT!!


So now I am here to urge you all to try it out.  Just try it, play with it......I am sure you will fall in love with it just like I did.  So, for no cost to you, you can try it out right now.  Just log on to my website here, create a Studio J login and play around with it.  Look at the great layouts I made below.  And since this was my very FIRST time using Studio J, I really didn't get into all that it can do.  You are going to be amazed.....Just click on any photo below for a larger look!
